How to use Cortex

Start with real customer signals, build a living persona, then ask Cortex to help you write, validate, and decide — all grounded in how your buyers actually think.

Who is Cortex for?

E-commerce & DTC brands

Validate offers, emails, ads, and landing pages against real buyer psychology — not guesswork.

Founders & marketers

Turn messy reviews and Reddit threads into a clear persona you can chat with every day.

Growth & creative teams

Sharpen hooks, angles, and product copy before you ship — faster iteration, fewer blind spots.

Start with Cortex Companion

Cortex Companion is the Chrome extension that feeds Cortex with public audience signals — Amazon reviews and Reddit conversations — from pages you already browse.

Step by step

  1. Install the extension

Add Cortex Companion to Chrome. During private beta, load it unpacked from the repo or use the install link when the Web Store listing is live.

  3. Import customer signals

Visit Amazon review pages or Reddit threads where your audience talks. Preview what the extension found, pick a project, and import.

  4. Generate your persona

Open your project in Cortex. When you have enough raw language — pain points, objections, buying triggers — generate a persona from your research.

  5. Chat with your persona

Ask anything: critique a creative, draft an email, find objections, or pressure-test an offer. Cortex answers in your buyer's voice.

Tips for better results

  • Import a mix of reviews and threads — not just five-star praise.
  • One Cortex project per product or offer keeps signals focused.
  • Add a product brief PDF in chat when you want tighter copy.
  • Use Reserve (home icon) to see what data Cortex already has.
  • Start simple: one URL, a few reviews, or one piece of copy to review.
